Calgary Mayor Nenshi is all worked up that failing to fully sanction Gay Straight Alliances makes Albertans look like the kind of hillbillies we are! Wow.

I caught the Christmas fever early this year. I’m not really sure why, maybe it was because fall transitioned so beautifully into winter, or more likely, it’s because my roommate put the tree up and decorated the entire house more than a month ago.

The Okotoks Acoustic Christmas “Food Bank” Benefit concert will be held at the Foothills Centennial Centre on Tuesday, Dec. 16 and Wednesday, Dec. 17. Start time is 7 p.m.

We thoroughly enjoyed the concert at Lewis Memorial, Paul Rumbolt never disappoints. No one does “O Holy Night” the way Paul does. The Levesque’s were wonderful and we will surely be hearing more from the adorable Maddison Krebs.

Nice to see the Calgary Stampeders came through and won the 102nd Grey Cup held in Vancouver. They maybe didn’t play as well as some of us expected but it was good enough to walk away with a 20-14 triumph.

The Christmas lights bus tour is a go for Dec. 11. Mary Anne would like to have your $10 in by Dec. 5. The bus will leave the VNC at 6 p.m. and don’t forget a toonie for the driver. The Sound of Music was quite lovely.

I officially started Christmas shopping over the weekend. I got my niece and nephew’s wish list last week and it looks like I have my work cut our for me.

Sometimes there are images which become indelibly etched into our psyches no matter how hard we try to erase them. Military personnel who see “action” often experience this.

There’s a fine-line between a being hard-hitting journalist and a die-hard Stamps fan. I had the opportunity to be in the Stamps’ dressing room after they stomped the Edmonton Eskimos 43-18 in the West final on Sunday.
