The saying goes that two things are guaranteed in life, death and taxes. As it happens, I just renewed my life insurance this week to help my family in the event of my untimely death.

The garden club was pleased to welcome Marlis Haage on Thursday. She shared her fascinating slides from her trip to Myanmar. We have beautiful new window coverings on our three north windows. I hope it helps our floor curlers and it was certainly beneficial when we used the overhead for Marlis' slides.

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you are all snuggled up with a pile of good books to last you the winter season. The Longview library has a wonderful speaker series lined up for you in the month of February called Community and Land.

Well, here we are well into 2015 already and I am wondering if any of you are still on course with your New Year’s resolutions. I gave up making them years ago as I always let myself down. I had an excuse for almost everything.
