Our annual Thanksgiving pot luck and silent auction will be on October 5 at 5 p.m. If you have any items for the silent auction, please drop them off any time the building is open.

The Okotoks Recreation Centre will once again be the site for the 23rd annual Okotoks Pro Rodeo. The Rodeo will take place Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. Sundays performance will be at 1 p.m.

Exercise classes start up again on September 23 at 9:30 a.m. If you are interested, stop by and put your name on the sign up sheet, or call Fritz at 403-933-7304.

I haven’t had to move anywhere for six years. Packing boxes full of belongings and setting up a household all over again is something I’m quite happy to not have to do often.

Bring the family out this Saturday to see some great events and music. The Highland Games will once again take place on the grounds of the Foothills Composite High School. Scottish dancers, Irish dancers, bag pipes and so much more.

Margaret has relinquished her membership chairmanship and Kevin Pearson has offered to take over this job. Thanks Kevin for stepping into this position. The first executive meeting of the fall season will be on Aug.

Downtown Okotoks has been a busy place this summer and the upcoming weekend will be no exception. Sunday from 10am to 4pm the main street will be closed and about 500 beautiful automobiles will line the streets.

This is the weekend of the 107th Priddis & Millarville Fair. It’s a full day of fun for the whole family at the Millarville Race Track beginning with the farmers’ market in the morning, followed by all the trappings of a true country fair.

Some 1,800 cyclists provided a reminder that there are a whole lot more important things in life than self-imposed deadlines and the fact the Dawgs are done for the year.

I admit I have a stubborn streak, and right now is one of those moments where it has taken control. As I watch the abundance of parents with children in tow going through the various aisles of school supplies, I refuse to follow the lead just yet.
