Wasn’t Discovery Days a credit to our two little towns? The VNC’s plant sale was a huge success and I can’t say enough good things about the rhubarb festival. Whomever came up with the original idea certainly has my vote.

For anyone looking to pick up a peach Primetime or a grape flavoured cigarette, you’re out of luck. This week the legislation to ban flavoured tobacco, which was passed by the former PC government, went into effect in Alberta.

What is it about change that can either strike fear into our hearts or fill us with hope? Depending on how you view it change can be good or bad, welcome or scary, exhilarating or overwhelming.

We are finally coming into my favourite time of year. I love the warm weather and long, sunny days. I love hitting up patios, barbecues, getting out by the river and heading out to the mountains. What I like the most are all the events going on.

It is my understanding that the Turner Valley swimming pool opening will be delayed this year. Hope the spray park opening goes ahead as planned so the kids can begin a wet and wonderful summer.
