Do you know someone who demonstrates leadership through volunteerism? If you do, please consider nominating them for a Leaders of Tomorrow award if they are in elementary, junior high or high school.

In February and March we will have a series for Savvy Seniors at the library. Savvy Seniors is part of the BBB Savvy Consumer Education Program.

Our annual meeting went very well. We have a new president and vice-president -Ross Binkley and Kevin Pearson. The remainder of the executive remain virtually the same.

The 100+ Women Who Care initiative in Okotoks is holding its second meeting on Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Crystal Ridge Golf Course.

With a rapidly declining economic outlook, Canadians across the country are struggling to adapt to changing times this new year. It’s like we’re standing on shifting sands, not the most stable of foundations from which to build and prosper.

It seems weird for me to be writing this column but believe it or not a handful of people in the area have suggested from time to time that I should keep in touch.
