There appears to be considerable apprehension and misunderstanding about the physician and general medical services in High River.

Looting was always a major concern during the June flood, but to see it become an issue now is disgusting.

It may be only one doctor, but there is legitimate concern it could be just the beginning and steps must be taken to convince foothills physicians not to move elsewhere.

Building a flood diversion channel around High River to protect the community from future flooding is critical and the provincial government is listening. However, residents need more details before they can feel safe.

The Town of Okotoks is preparing to submit an application to annex enough land for 60 years of growth, but in doing so it is setting itself up for a long and onerous negotiation process.
