I hate to say it, but Alberta is the only Canadian province left without a provincial sales tax and with dwindling revenues and plenty of expenses I am not sure there is a more fair way than this tax.

You’ve probably heard the quote before, “Love means never having to say you’re sorry.” If that’s the case, I know very little about love.

The annual meeting went well. We have a couple of changes to the executive. Our new secretary is Carol McCreary and I have been added as an additional director.

Strathmore was chosen to host the Lions Club District 37-O convention. Twenty-nine Lions Clubs were represented with 234 registered convention delegates. Nomination, voting and election of officers took place on Saturday.

Way back when, I worked at McDonald’s. At the time, employees were allowed to eat the leftover food at the end of the day so there I was in drive-through, chowing down on stale chicken nuggets when a guy pulled up to the window.

Congrats to the mental midgets who came on the Okotoks and District Seniors Club parking lot and destroyed two handicap parking signs. One the first week and they came back the next week and destroyed the second.

Okotoks town council wants to have its annexation process complete by the end of 2013, but such an ambitious timetable is unlikely to happen.

I am not one to criticize anyone’s beliefs and everyone should feel free to embrace their faith, but please do not tell me your God made sure you won a football game.

I’ve got a great idea. We have seen that it is legal to set up a protest group in this country pretty well where ever you want. For example, Idle No More and Occupy Calgary.

Our exercise program on Tuesday mornings is going very well. We had 17 participants last week’. I hope you all read John Barlow’s article in the Jan. 11 edition of The Weekend. It was an excellent article.
