I was interviewing an Okotoks teacher last week about her bid to get healthier when she told me with some laughs she was eating a kale salad. At first I laughed too and then I had second thoughts.

What kind of a person are Canadians looking for when we welcome immigrants? To begin with this is Canada — plain and simple. This is our country, our land, and our lifestyle.

Members at the Okotoks and District Seniors Centre were delighted to have Premier Alison Redford drop in for a visit on Feb. 2. While there was no political conversation she really seemed to relax by trying floor curling and snooker with the guys.
