Handicap parking signs damaged at seniors' centre

Congrats to the mental midgets who came on the Okotoks and District Seniors Club parking lot and destroyed two handicap parking signs. One the first week and they came back the next week and destroyed the second.

Congrats to the mental midgets who came on the Okotoks and District Seniors Club parking lot and destroyed two handicap parking signs. One the first week and they came back the next week and destroyed the second. One wonders what kind of brainpower or lack of any brainpower it takes to do things like this. If your parent finds out they would not be happy they raised such an idiot.

I am sorry to report the loss of Louise Hendrick, our volunteer who set up our library and maintained it for several years. We will miss her smiling face and good humour.

It is also sad to report the loss of several long-term members over the holiday season so we express our sympathy to their families. Rest well Don Diehl, Doris Marchbank, Elaine Bird, Robert VanTighem and Phyllis Parker.

The club opens 2013 with great participation with all activities reporting full houses. There are many new members joining each week and several new activities forming groups and looking for new ideas.

Tuesday morning is filled with exercise groups from extreme that uses video to the easy that uses chairs. The instructor of the easy is Beverly Quail who is doing a great job. What a great way for seniors to keep fit.

The club opens Feb. 4 with a potluck followed by our annual meeting so it is very important a large attendance takes it in. We also elect a new board of directors to replace our existing board that has done a great job. If you really want to get involved in the club with 400 members and a super facility let your name stand for the board. It opens one’s eyes of all the things needed to run such an operation.

We look forward to another successful year.
