The Sheep Creek Arts Council is having its open house and registration day on Thursday, Jan. 12 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Come and see the clubs and classes offered this winter/spring session and sign up. Also, memberships are due to be renewed.

The New Year’s Eve celebration at the Flare n’ Derrick was a huge success, although I’m told the number of attendees was only about half of last year. The weather was definitely a factor but the kids had so much fun in the snow.

We are mostly back to routine and that is fine by me. I am definitely a routine person. Other than floor curling and the exercise group, all activities are back on track. Floor curling resumes on Jan. 9 and exercise on Jan. 10.

Three times during the holidays, as we were out and about in town, I was directed to stop in specific locations on the hunt for Pokemon. “Hurry, this guy disappears after like 10 minutes, we need to get to the library now!” I don’t play.

Looking back over the past year I would have to say that 2016 was a year of extremes. I think back to how extremely exciting it was when Okotoks was in the Top 10 communities competing to be named Kraft Hockeyville.
