No matter her age, 19-year-old Caitlin Greene was a true “girly girl” who loved princesses, fairytales and the colour pink. Family and friends remembered Greene for her friendly and outgoing personality, and wickedly sarcastic sense of humour.

The worst snowstorm of the season swept through Alberta over the weekend leaving Okotoks in a whiteout and closing highways throughout the foothills.

Turner Valley RCMP are praising members of Eden Valley for their assistance in the arrest of three individuals for marijuana trafficking last week. At about 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 7, RCMP arrested a trio suspected of dealing drugs on the reserve.

Okotoks motorists have to slow down near schools a little earlier in the New Year. On Jan. 1, school zone speeds of 30 km per hour came into effect half an hour earlier at 7:30 a.m. The school zone end time of 5 p.m. will remain the same.

There will not be any major projects completed in Okotoks in 2011, but Mayor Bill Robertson said it will still be a busy year yet again.

The trial for two men accused in an Okotoks marijuana grow op has been put off for more than a year. A trial for Robert Brown and Daniel Bridgman in relation to a grow op broken up by Okotoks RCMP in April 2009 had been scheduled for Dec. 22.
