Dear Editor The beautiful wilderness referred to by Carol Gauzer in her eloquent letter to the editor of the Western Wheel, is at immediate risk of the clear cutting in the Highwood area.

Dear Editor, Re: Timber Harvesting South of Highwood House Referring to Norm Denney’s Letter: I’d like to compliment Norm on a very thoughtful letter, that looks at all users of the land in and around South Kananaskis.

Dear Editor, The timber harvest that is proposed for the Highwood Junction causes me great concern. That junction is the gateway to the south end of Kananaskis Country.

Dear Editor, Longview’s first place finish in Alberta during Earth Hour is obviously far better than most Canadian towns and cities.

Dear Editor, I have been hiking, hunting, camping, fishing and horseback riding in the upper Highwood and south of Highwood House for 65 years. It was, is and always will be a wonderful place to be.

Dear Editor, I am an avid outdoors person.

Dear Editor, I have just received information that there is going to be clear cutting of the trees in the Highwood south of the Highwood River starting this fall. If in fact this is correct, I would be extremely opposed to this plan.

Dear Editor, As a resident of High River and a long time user recreationally of the Highwood area I’m disturbed with recent news of the clear cutting plans for the area. First and foremost. I lived through the flood in High River in 2013.

Dear Editor, It has been brought to my attention that there are plans to log in an area of the Eastern Slopes by the Highwood Junction west of Longview.
