Hazel Martin — Council Candidate
I am passionate about our small towns and have enjoyed raising our family here. This along with staying active in both Black Diamond and Turner Valley; volunteering on various board and committees, has fueled my desire to run for office in pursuit of the best for all residents.
Two communities, becoming one stronger community, going forward hand in hand.
I foresee new opportunities coming with amalgamation that were never possible before with smaller, segregated town populations. As well as, higher efficiencies in town services that will now be managed and delivered through one Council.
I am also passionate about addressing the growing demand for affordable housing.
I will be working closely with Westwinds Communities as they move forward with a new affordable housing initiative in Black Diamond. This initiative will help fill the demand for affordable rental accommodations for lone persons households, low-income households, and seniors.
I am dedicated to continuing to finding ways to fund the Solar Panel Project.
