Bob Rogers (Robert James) passed away
peacefully August 5, 2022, at the High River
Hospital surrounded by his family. Bob was
born in Trail BC on June 6, 1941. He will be
dearly missed by his four children: Larry
(Coral) Rogers of White Fish, MT their children
Eric (Jessica), Julie (Zach), Mark (Lydia).
Yvonne (Doug) Gage of High River her children
Wade (Sarah) Tutt, Steve (Crystal) Tutt, Cate
(Wes) Walker, Susan Tutt. John (Anna) Rogers
of Swift Current, SK their children Grady and
Scotlyn. Elaine (Dan) Braconnier of Black
Diamond their children Francis, Merry, Jake
(Nicole) and Kelly, and 16 great grandchildren.
He is survived by his sister Kathy Barton
and brother-in-law George Severin. Bob
was predeceased by his loving wife Cathy
Rogers (nee: Plummer), parents Murlen
Rogers and Dorothy Rogers (nee: Hammond),
sisters Beverly Severin and Marlene Tarling,
brother Jerry.
Bob’s career in electronics started in the
Canadian Armed Forces Signal Corp. Then,
as the Superintendent of Communications for
Pan Arctic Oils. In 1985 Bob started his own
company, North Rim Communications, leasing
remote airstrips to exploration companies all
over western Canada. Bob retired in his family
home in Black Diamond in 1994 and a few
years later moved to High River.
Dad loved to play and sing all kinds of music
in all kinds of places, our kitchen, church and
around the campfire
Bob Rogers was a member of the Knights of
Columbus at St Michael’s Catholic Church
in Black Diamond where he enjoyed the
responsibilities of being the Grand Knight
during his membership. Like many fathers
Bob coached hockey on the outdoor rink in
Black Diamond.
A prayer service for Bob will be held at
7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2022, at
the St. Michaels Catholic Church in Black
Diamond. The funeral service for Bob
will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday,
August 20, 2022, at St. Michaels Catholic
Church in Black Diamond.
