Our family is saddened to announce that Bob passed away peacefully
at the Foothills Country Hospice.  Bob will be sadly missed by his wife,
Joanne, sons Blake (Naoko) (Japan), Jordy (Ladner), their mother Carol
(Ladner), his mother-in-law, Laurene Jaggard, stepchildren, Geoff (Sandra)
Nickerson, Trevor Nickerson (Mimi Sahlstrom), Kyla (Jeff) Badke, and his
most beloved grandchildren, Gemma, Everly, Spencer, Oliver, Freya, Vayda,
Summer and Holden. Bob is also survived by his sister Shirley (Alex) Holz,
brothers-in-law Wayne and Allen Jaggard (Diane), and numerous nieces
and nephews.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, Anne Hall and Clifford Cunningham, and
his father-in-law and very good friend Bill Jaggard. Bob took very special care
of Bill during Bill’s last days and his kindness during this time will always be
remembered. Bob will be met in heaven by Bill and his loyal companion and chick
magnet “Shmee”.

Bob was born in Vancouver and lived in Vancouver, Ladner, area for over
50 years. Along with his family, Bob’s greatest love was baseball, and he
was well known in Ladner for his many years of coaching Jordy and his
buddies. Bob coached Jordy’s pee wee team to the Canadian nationals
in Nova Scotia. He was very active as President of B.C. minor ball, and
his love for the game led him to umpiring where he obtained his level 4
umpire. He was extremely proud of officiating at a national event. Bob was
very close with Jordy, and they spent many hours on the phone discussing
baseball plays, coaching, umpiring, and reminiscing of all the good
times they had.

Bob came to Alberta in 1999, where he was immediately welcomed and
made numerous friends. His sense of humour was enjoyed by many, and
he was joking and laughing right until the end. He enjoyed playing poker
with Geoff’s group of friends, and was sometimes lucky at the “craps” table
at the casino.

Bob and Joanne visited many ball parks over the years, Fenway and
Chicago being the favorites. They enjoyed travelling and were fortunate to
have many trips to Mexico, the U.S., and many cruises, often with Bill and
Laurene. They were always looking for a ball game to attend.
The grandchildren started coming in 2007 and Bob couldn’t have been
happier. He loved them with all his heart and was always interested in their
activities and hearing their stories. He was fondly referred to as Grumpy
Grandpa Bob by all the children he met.
Bob was often referred to as the king of Penncross. He had his own chair
and visiting hours were held every morning with friends and neighbours,
and of course the dogs. He was very social and arranged several parties in
the gazebo and on the third floor. Good times were enjoyed by all.

The family would like to thank the medical staff at the Foothills, Tom Baker,
and High River hospitals for their care and a very special thanks to the
Foothills Country Hospice for their loving care, compassion, and kindness
over the last month.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Foothills Country Hospice,
Okotoks, Alberta.

A memorial service will be held for Bob on Sunday, June 5, 2022,
at 1:00 p.m. at the Okotoks Senior Club. #4 204 Community
Way, Okotoks.
