Margaret Madeline Hodges (nee Hoy)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the
passing of Margaret on November 30, 2022,
in Black Diamond, AB at the age of 66.

Margaret was born and raised in the Millarville
area and graduated from Black Diamond High
School, where she made many close lifelong
friends. After leaving the area Margaret lived
in many places including the Northwest
Territories, Grande Prairie, Beaumont and
in her later years together with her partner
Dave they moved to Balfour, B.C. before
retiring home to Black Diamond, AB. Along
the way she was blessed with meeting many
wonderful friends and creating cherished
memories.

Margaret enjoyed crafting, baking, flowers,
birds, spending time with friends, family, and
traveling to warm destinations, where she
could bask in the sun.

Margaret is survived by her brother Billy, her
daughters Nicole (Craig) and Leanne (Glen),
grandchildren Ashton, Megan, Tyler and
Blake, her partner Dave and step-children
Allison (Mike), Matthew (Stephanie), Jennifer
and grandchildren Charlia, Kasey, Ella and
Makayla, as well as a host of loving friends
and relatives.

Margaret shared a special relationship with
her cousin Patty and had many cherished
friends, who provided her much love and
support throughout her life, especially
during her battle with ALS. The countless
walks, shopping excursions, meals, visits,
card games and prayers will be forever
remembered.

Heartfelt thanks to Unity Home Care and to
the staff at Oilfields General Hospital Acute
Care for their kind and compassionate care
throughout Margaret’s journey.

A celebration of life will be held at the
Millarville Christ Church House on Saturday,
April 15, 2023, from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. After the
Celebration, the immediate family will depart
for the internment.

If desired, memorial donations may be made
to the ALS Society of Alberta.
