Linda Penton, of Black Diamond, AB, passed away on Saturday,
May 28, 2022, at the age of 72 years. She was born in Maple Creek,
SK, on July 24, 1949, and graduated from William Aberhart High School.

She was a member of the Foothills Lion’s Club and was a past member
of Soroptimist International. She volunteered with Canadian Anglican
Cursillo.

Linda most recently solely owned and worked at the seamstress
shop Little Red Hen Studio. She was a co-owner of Valiant Cleaners
and later owned Royal Cleaners in Calgary. She accomplished much
throughout her life and was particularly proud of producing a loving
family, publishing her own book, and building her dream home on an
acreage in the country.

Linda was a passionate servant of God. She loved gardening, baking,
nature, travelling, history, sewing, crafting, singing, and listening to
music. She enjoyed any activity or event with her grandchildren, serving
her community through volunteer and spiritual guidance, story telling,
and creating emotional connections with her travel destinations. Linda’s
most memorable trips were when she went to Hawaii at the age of 31,
and Eastern Europe at the age of 60.

She will most be remembered for hosting and feeding family and
friends along with the ability to connect personally with just about
anyone.

Linda is survived by her daughter Roberta Lynn Goplen, and son-in-law
Peter Machacek of Calgary, AB; son Timothy Axel Goplen, and
daughter-in-law Jill Michelle Goplen, of Black Diamond, AB; two
grandchildren, Signe Solveig, and Sven Aksel Goplen, of Black Diamond,
AB; the Penton stepchildren and their extended family.

Linda is also survived by her two sisters and one brother-in-law, Ethel
(Melton) Wutzky of Airdrie, AB, and Mildred Trudeau of Vernon, BC.

Linda was predeceased by her loving husband Ralph Penton; her
parents Julia Ebel and George Frank; two brothers Ernest Frank and
Vernon Frank; three beloved dogs, Bear, Missy, and Momo.

Linda’s family would like to send their appreciation to St. Paul’s
Anglican Church, the Foothills Lion’s Club, the fellow business owners
in her mall and the helpful neighbours on Riverwood Rise.
