1952 - 2023

Leonard Thielen, a man of many horses.

From the young child chasing cattle across
the yard, to the cowboy on the Southern
Alberta rodeo circuit and the Dad leading his
children down the Kananaskis trails. Leonard
had a love for his horses and cowboy lifestyle
throughout his lifetime but most of all a love
for his children, grandchildren and great
grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his
children, Stacey (Brent Barrows, Ethan,
William, Kelsey (Lane); grandchildren, Harper,
Tuftin); Lannie (Erin Creak, Clyde, Kate);
Jaime (Trevor Drapaka, Hunter, Brooke).

Leonard was raised in Milk River, before
moving his family north to the Nanton and
Okotoks area and retiring in Foremost, Alberta.
Leonard is predeceased by his parents,
Katie (Gaetz) and Gordon B Thielen. Leonard
was taken much earlier than we were ready.

The loving father will be remembered for his
love of horses, the mountains and the tight knit
extended family he leaves behind. In honoring
Leonard’s wishes a celebration of life will be
organized at a future date.
