It is with heavy hearts the family of Leona
Baggenstos announce her passing on May 31,
2023 at the Oilfields General Hospital. Leona
was the only daughter out of nine siblings to
be born to Charles and Martha Heinz.
Leona was born and educated in the Hay
Lakes Area. She is survived by her husband,
Leslie and two sons Lloyd and Bruce as well
as three brothers: Ervin, Walter and Richard
Heinz and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Leona was predeceased by both parents and
five brothers: Clarence, Ernest, Gilbert, Paul
and Raymond. In 1974, Leona and family
moved to Turner Valley and started the L.A.B.
Varity Store and restaurant in the old B&E
store and Royal Cafe. In later years the Sears
and Craft Store were incorporated into the
business. Leona and Les retired and sold the
business in 2007.
By request, there will be no services held.
There will be a family get-together at the
grave site for the burial of the ashes at a
later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider
donations to any cancer fund.
