June 3, 1943 – May 30, 2023
After a courageous battle with cancer, Larry
Wayne Benoit of Okotoks, AB, passed away
on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at the age of
79 years.
Larry was born in Winnipeg, MB,
to the late James Lawrence and Margret
Benoit. Larry is survived by his beloved
wife of 55 years, Shelbey Benoit; and their
son Lanny (Lori-Anne) Benoit. He was the
proud grandfather of three grandsons,
John Aidan, Grayson, and Cade. Larry
started his career in Ear Falls, Ontario,
with the Ministry of Environment Clean
Water Agency and later moved to Morden,
Manitoba in 2002, where he continued to
work in the industry until retiring in 2006.
Larry relocated to Alberta shortly thereafter
with his wife Shelbey to be closer to his
family. In his early twenties, Larry proudly
won the Canadian snowmobile racing
championship, obtained his pilot’s license,
and pursued many other interests all of
which fell short to his love of barbequing,
as fondly enjoyed by family and friends.
