John Clarke Fraser died peacefully on August 9th, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Born in 1950 in Glasgow Scotland to proud parents Betty and Dr. John Fraser, they immigrated to Eatonia, Saskatchewan and eventually Empress, Alberta where John taught himself guitar and excelled in sports. Receiving an athletic scholarship brought him to the University of Calgary where he played Hockey for the Dino’s before being drafted to the Dayton Gems, a farm club
of the Boston Bruins. He was appointed Director of Parks and Recreation for Okotoks in 1974 where he began his life in the growing town of just 1100 people. He had many fond memories playing with the Okotoks Oilers Hockey Team. John fell in love with Miss Calgary, Manni Fink,
who shared his love of music and family. In 1976 he began a real-estate career eventually opening Team Realty Ltd. where he and Manni would build award-winning careers. John established himself in every facet of Real Estate, most passionately in farm-ranch and commercial. He was a Calgary Real Estate Board President, Honorary Life Member, TWH Saunders Award Winner and 1996 Realtor of the Year. He also served on the Canadian Real Estate Association, was Alberta Real Estate Association Director and Honorary Life Member as well as #1 Royal LePage Commercial Realtor Canada wide (2015). John was recognized as a vital contributor to the growth of the beautiful town of Okotoks, receiving the Canada 150 Volunteer Award in 2017. A passion for music brought him cherished life long friends, playing in local jams, parades and the Calgary Stampede. He selflessly served his community organizing the annual Okotoks Christmas concert, raising thousands for the Food Bank. John is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Manni, children John Christian (daughters Ana and Ela), Saxon, Brittany (husband Ben Woodland), Caroline, and his sister Caroline Fraser-Derrick. Shamelessly proud of his artistic children and grandchildren, his spirit and legacy will live on through them. A heartfelt thank you goes to the ICU staff at South Campus Hospital. The funeral will be held at 2pm on August 20th at St. James Catholic Church 338060 - 32nd St. East, Okotoks, AB.
