Heinz Ludvik Moeckl passed away in Calgary, Alberta on Saturday, 31st of July, 2021.

He was born on October 11, 1934 in Neudek, Czechoslovakia to Ernst Moeckl and Angela Riditer. The family immigrated to St. Walburg, Saskatchewan in 1949. Heinz joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1953, where he served in peacekeeping duties in Korea, Gaza, Egypt and Norway. Upon leaving the army in 1973, he joined the Calgary City Police Service where he served as a chauffeur for several police chiefs.

Throughout his life, he loved to travel. He especially loved South America and the South Pacific as well as many places in Europe.

Heinz is survived by his loving wife Sandra Robinson, his son Douglas (Teresa) and his grandsons, Christopher and Michael who reside in Okotoks. Heinz is also survived by his sister Helga Schmidt (Gus) of Lloydminster.

Heartfelt thanks go out to all the nursing staff and caregivers at the Salvation Army Agape Hospice who took such exceptionally good care of Heinz in his last month.

A Memorial Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on August 20, 2021 at 10:00 AM.
