Harry Morton, 89, of Okotoks AB, peacefully passed away on June 6 at the High River General Hospital.

Harry was born on April 15, 1932, to Charlie and Mary Morton in the town of Virden, Manitoba. Harry worked the family farm in Two Creeks, Manitoba, until he left the farm for steel construction and welding. Harry loved this part of his life and had the opportunity to travel a little for his job. Later he landed a career with Prudential Steel in Calgary, where he eventually retired. Harry also had his hands full in his spare time with metal and wood projects, his rental properties, and his cars. Harry’s prized possessions were always his Thunderbirds. Harry loved to watch and go to Hockey and Baseball games. To be remembered, though, Harry gained lifelong friends and family through his rentals and love of sports.

A special thanks to High River General Hospital Staff for their compassion and superior care for Harry. Most importantly, we are forever grateful for the love and care that his friend Lisa Jones provided Uncle Harry. There are many that knew and cared for Harry, and many of them met regularly at his favourite place, the Sweetgrass Deli and Eatery.

Harry was predeceased by his parents Charlie and Mary Morton and his sister Joan Donald. He is survived by his nephew Ted Donald.

A celebration of Harry’s life will be held at Snodgrass Funeral Home, 200 Woodgate Road, on July 1, 2021, at 11:00 AM.
