December 19, 1931- June 17, 2021

It is with heavy hearts, the children of Gasper Parczen announce his passing on June 17, 2021.

For over twenty-five years dad fought bladder cancer with unwavering courage and determination. In the end, it was a short, fierce battle with AML that was more than he could overcome.

Left to mourn his absence are his children: Ramona (Rod), Brenda (Chuck), Diane (Wayne) & Brian (Kimmy); their mother Rosalia; 9 beautiful grandchildren and two adorable great grandchildren.

Dad was the original MacGyver... he could fix anything, with next to nothing... and took great pride in knowing his kids were listening and learnt so much of what he taught! Dad was fiercely independent and stayed active right to the very end. He loved riding his tricycle, going to the gym, playing bridge and living on his own. Covid hampered some of these activities, so dad took up a new one.... chatting up strangers whenever an opportunity arose! Thank-you to all the Okotokians who took a moment out of their busy days to have a chat with dad.

A very special thank you to the amazing professionals at the High River Cancer Centre and Unit 46 of the Foothills Medical Centre for taking such good care of dad.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
