December 26, 1933 – August 4, 2021
Mr. Flores Groeneveld of Blackie, Alberta passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Southwood Hospice in Calgary on August 4, 2021 at the age of 87 years.
Flores is survived by his children Toni Groeneveld, Glenn (Sharmayne), Jeff (Susan), Jay (Angela); his loving grandchildren Brittany (Connor), Clinton (Kate), Brooklyn, Curtis (Jennah), Reid (Christina), Kyle, Chase, Tanner, Tessa and Elle; great grandchildren Julianna and Grayson; brother George (Judy) Groeneveld. Flores was predeceased by his loving wife, Margaret, their two sons Chris and Tim, and his first wife, Marilyn.
“FJ” was devoted to his family and friends. He was a supporter and defender of the community he was born and raised in and where he and his wife, Margaret, made their living as farmers. He was active in church work, the Ag Society, parades, theatre group, coaching, Masonic Lodge as well as a Councillor, Reeve and Deputy Reeve with the Foothills MD. He supported youth, people and families.
A Celebration of Flores’ Life will be held at the Highwood Memorial Centre in High River on August 14th, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.
