Elaine Yvette Marie Richards, 66, passed away
May 26, 2022, in her home in Black Diamond.

She was born to parents Donat Clément and
Solange Touchette on December 4, 1955, in
Middleton, Nova Scotia. Elaine graduated from
Quinte Secondary School in 1972 and became
a licensed C.M.A. in 1984.

She is survived by her five children; Karissa
Richards, Calgary, Alberta; Alanna Madarasz,
Black Diamond, Alberta; Samantha Bauer, Three
Hills, Alberta; Joshua Richards, Vancouver,
British Columbia; Rebecca Geddes, Three Hills,
Alberta; and her 6 grandchildren. She was
predeceased by her beloved father in 2005.

Elaine was someone who not only ‘studied’
scripture but was committed to walking
with the Lord through her life. She embodied
Christ-like humility, love, and compassion
for others.

When she was diagnosed with leukemia in
1999 it was her faith that gave her the strength
to fight. That, and the deep, ferocious, mother’s
love she had for her children. Cancer wasn’t
going to stop her from raising her children,
not if she could help it. So she put her trust
in medicine and her faith in God, and by the
power of both she was able to not only raise
her children but see them flourish and to see
her grandchildren who she loved just as much.

But Elaine was not selfish or sparing with her
love. She made life-long friends everywhere
she went and enriches countless people’s lives
with her giving spirit and kindness.

While it is with great sorrow that we mourn her
passing, take comfort that she knew what was
waiting for her beyond this veil. And that she
was particularly looking forward to her heavenly
body, free from pain.
