May 19th 1999 - June 20th 2021

In the early hours of June 20th, one of the kindest young souls to ever grace the community was tragically taken from us all.

This young boy entered the world 6 weeks before his due date.  He spent 2 weeks in the special care unit before he came home to his very proud parents, grandparents and numerous other friends and relatives.  This young boy instantly lit up any room he was in from the day he was born to the day he passed away.

Schooled in Turner Valley Elementary, he created legendary stories from kindergarten and then on to Oilfields High School where he graduated.  Dylan left a very lasting impression that would start with a hug for the ladies and solid handshake for the men and an introduction to all.  He was often described as an old soul, who had a laugh that was infectious, genuine and lasting.

Dylan grew up an outdoorsman.  Early hunting and fishing trips with friends and family forged the young man he became.  His love and understanding of the outdoors was usually reserved for someone much greater in years.  Dylan played Minor Hockey for the High Country Rockies and proudly wore #17 for that duration.  A hard-hitting skater who possessed a deceiving shot, always an entertainer on the bench, locker room and of course the ice.

The love of roping led him to move from hockey to the rodeo arena where he made lasting impressions still with loops that were natural and true.  The cowboy lifestyle grabbed him right after graduation and he worked locally on a couple ranches close to his home outside of Turner Valley.  A short spell on the drilling rigs gave him some income to buy ranch gear and then he moved onto big outfits in the interior of B.C.  Dylan fit right in and quickly established himself as a handy cowboy who had a natural ability with animals.  On these big outfits Dylan found his calling.  The love for the lifestyle kept him away from home and he was missed dearly at home.

Dylan is survived by his Parents, Mitch and Tammy Oborne; Sister Alexi; Grandmother Myrna and numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

A celebration of life will be held on the Oborne property Monday July 5th at 1pm.
