We are heartbroken to announce the sudden
passing of Drew deVries, of Calgary, Alberta, on
June 11th, 2022. Left to mourn are his parents
Rick and Debbie; his siblings Lindsay Lillyman
(Casey) Lara Selk (Cory); and their families.
Drew also leaves behind his grandparents Dini
deVries and Joyce Inverarity; as well as aunts,
uncles, cousins, and friends too numerous to
mention. Drew was predeceased by his Opa,
Drew deVries.

Growing up, Drew was constantly making his
family and friends laugh. He was also always
trying new things; anything and everything.
From hockey to golfing, skateboarding to
boxing, snowboarding to unicycling, he did it all.
Drew had many accomplishments in his short
life. After graduation from FCHS in Okotoks he
took a gap year that allowed him to backpack
through Europe with his two friends, fulfilling
a dream of his. Drew later went back to his
family’s roots and lived in the Netherlands for
a few months, where he stayed with family and
worked in the café industry that he so loved.
He always enjoyed working with the public,
and conversing with fellow colleagues and
intellects. As an avid reader, Drew was often
expanding his knowledge in current events and
topics that interested him. Drew completed a
diploma in Architectural Technology at SAIT and
most recently, he received his Bachelor of Arts
in Urban Studies from the University of Calgary.
Drew was not just large in stature; he had the
personality to match. His witty sense of humour
left a lasting impression on anyone who met
him. However, recent struggles with his mental
health left Drew in a dark place. He battled his
depression courageously but could no longer
fight. He will be missed more than words can
say.

A private family service will be held at
a later date. To view and share photos,
