Born August 28, 1964 in Turner Valley, Alberta, passed away May 21, 2021, Edmonton, Alberta.

Beloved Mother of Kurt Lucas Klassen; Partner to Lorne Lougheed; Sister to Gerarda (Dan) Denning, Marina (Andrew) Moon, Rudolf Sorge, Hyalmar Sorge, Tyson (Sue) Sorge, Liska Sorge; Niece to Angela Freson, Margaret Zimmer, Renate Spencer; beloved aunt and cousin. Predeceased by her brother Wilmar Sorge, and parents, Rudolf and Mary Sorge.

Caroline grew up in Turner Valley graduating from Oilfields High School in 1982. She attended the University of Calgary where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre. After obtaining a Master’s Degree in Business from Athabasca University, Caroline worked at various jobs in Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories, and Manitoba. Eight years ago, Caroline and Kurt Lucas moved to Grande Prairie, Alberta where she accepted a job as Executive Director of Rotary House. Most recently, she was Executive Director at the Peace River Regional Women’s Shelter.

Anyone who met Caroline can attest to her wit and larger than life personality, a true force of nature. Family occasions with her were always full of laughter and fun.

Taken too early from a pulmonary embolism we will try to come to terms with this sudden tragic loss.
