Brenda was born and raised on the Greig
family farm west of Nanton. The “big hill” was
the signature of the homestead. Growing up,
Brenda loved horses and spent many days
riding up the big hill with her sister and cousins.
In her young adult years, Brenda was a leader
of CGIT (Canadian Girls In Training). She was
well liked and respected by the young ladies
she was leading. Brenda had a love of sports.
She was an avid curler and golfer in Nanton
participating in many fun Ladies bonspiels.
On many a Friday night you could find Brenda
watching the Nanton Palaminos.

Brenda’ heart was full of compassion. She
touched the lives of many boys when she
worked at the Stampede Boys Ranch. She
made each and every boy feel like they
mattered. Brenda’s niece, Jackie moved in with
her in 1990 as a teen and Brenda raised her as
her own daughter. Brenda was so proud of her
granddaughter, Alexie. People often commented
that Alexie was the “sparkle” in Brenda’s eye.

Brenda started a new chapter in her life with her
soulmate Marvin 13 years ago. They especially
enjoyed traveling, dancing, riding horses,
moving cattle and all things Western. They
enjoyed living west of Nanton and enjoying their
view of the mountains and wildlife.
Brenda was loved by all and will be sadly
missed.

A Celebration of Brenda’s Life will be held
on Wednesday, May 25 at 1:00 p.m. at
the Thomas Hornecker Arena in Nanton.
