Anthony William Butcher 1944-2021 (Tony) sadly passed away Friday July 2nd in Okotoks Alberta at the Foothills Hospice recently having his birthday June 30th.

Tony was born in Cardiff, Wales immigrating to Canada with Hazel (his wife of 50 years) and son Stuart (Pearl).

Tony avidly enjoyed playing and watching sports, especially football, rugby, tennis, golf, bridge (including playing for Wales) and proudly is the only one in the family with a hole in one. A flare for cooking appetizers, enjoying tasting wine, travelling to warm destinations especially those with a beach, reading, spending time with his two grandsons Owen and Gareth and computer programming kept Tony busy.

Tony and Hazel moved from Sherwood Park to Okotoks for retirement making many friends that visited them on trips to Palm Springs.

The family would truly like to thank the staff/volunteers at the Foothills Country Hospice and High River Hospital for the care, support and treatment.

Polite and humble to the end, a celebration of life to honor Tony will be held at St James Catholic Church Okotoks on Monday July 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes can be made to Foothills Country Hospice Society Okotoks.
