Andrea reunited peacefully with her
husband, Andy (Andre) along with her
parents Ronald and Ruth (nee McNichol)
Lawrence, on Thursday April 27, 2023
at Oilfields General Hospital, Black
Diamond, AB surrounded by family.
Andrea will be sadly missed, and lovingly
remembered by her two daughters Kara
and Shani; granddaughter Kaehler;
brother, Ian and sister-in-law, Wendy;
along with numerous relatives and
friends, plus her special pets.
Andrea was born in Nipawin, SK on June
29, 1950. She grew up in the area, on &
off the family farm and went to school
in Prince Albert, SK. Andrea made many
friends there before moving to Regina,
where she met and married Andy on
Oct 21, 1972. Following her 35+ year
career with SGI Canada in Regina, SK,
she retired and moved to Black Diamond,
AB in 2004 with her family to enjoy small
town country life.
She enjoyed camping with her family
throughout Alberta and traveling on her
adventures overseas collecting artifacts,
stories & memories. Reading books,
the cinema and playing card games;
Cribbage & Canasta, were favourite past
times of hers.
Andrea’s talents were many, as an avid
history buff who also enjoyed genealogy,
she was gifted with a wonderful memory
for dates & events and enjoyed sharing
her knowledge. Andrea enjoyed sharing
her culinary skills, had an interest in
gemstones, jewellery & crystals and
always had a soft spot for animals
in need.
Above all Andrea was a beloved wife,
mother, grandmother, and a friend, who
took it upon herself to make everyone
feel welcome. For the last three years
Andrea faced down her adversity of
cancer with calm dignity and incredible
determination & strength, she is
our hero.
In keeping with Andrea’s expressed
wishes, cremation has taken place & she
will be laid to rest alongside her husband
and parents at Eden Brook Memorial
Gardens in Calgary, AB.
