The Town is seeking potential partners to get public transit rolling after Turner Valley council decided last month to discontinue talks with potential partners for public transportation.

An Alberta Works income support intake worker will no longer work in Okotoks, meaning clients accessing the subsidy service have to visit offices in Calgary or High River for appointments.

The Town of Okotoks repair cafe set up shop in a new location at Pason Centennial Arenas on Jan. 18. Visitors were able to bring in household items in hopes of saving them from the black bin, with local experts and tinkerers on hand to take a look.

Swords, axes, and maces struck shield and armour in the Heavy Armoured Combat Sports Association (HACSA) Winter Cup at the Okotoks Ag Society on Jan. 18. Unlike most reenactment, competitors in the sport, called buhurt, strike their opponents with full-force and full-speed.

Okotoks On-Demand Transit has been well-received by the community and continues to see high ridership.
