Arrests made in Priddis-Millarville break-ins

Crime: Public comes to the assistance of RCMP

Cochrane RCMP have arrested two Calgary men in connection to a series of break-ins in the Millarville-Priddis-Bragg Creek area.

Arrests have been made in connection to a series of break-ins and ATM thefts in the Priddis-Millarville-Bragg Creek area in September and October.

"The public has been very supportive of our efforts in this investigation and we’re extremely pleased to report these results," said Sgt. Ryan Singleton, operations support NCO of the Cochrane RCMP detachment. "This has been a comprehensive effort, and the investigation continues with support from several different units and detachments.”

Water’s Edge Pub in Priddis was broken into with items stolen and damaged twice, causing $8,000 worth of damage.

The Powderhorn Saloon in Bragg Creek was also hit twice in October, according to its owner.

As part of this investigation, the RCMP obtained a search warrant for a property south of Airdrie. The search warrant was executed Nov. 20 by Cochrane Crime Reduction Unit, Cochrane General Investigation Section, and Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit.

During the search, police recovered several all-terrain vehicles, a motorcycle, a covered trailer, and a pickup truck. The pickup truck is believed to have been used to commit offences. Also recovered is stolen property relating to the offences being investigated.

Charged jointly are 23-year-old Ian Charles Abercrombie, formerly of Calgary and 19-year-old Ethan Michael Enns of Calgary.

They are facing charges of:

 Break and enter to a business (near Bragg Creek and Priddis) x 8 counts

• wearing a mask while committing an indictable offence (near Bragg Creek and Priddis) x 5 counts.
