All volunteers are invited to attend a Volunteer Appreciation Open House on April 28, from 5-7 p.m. at the Sheep River Library in Turner Valley.

A celebration of the many volunteers whose contributions mean so much to the community will be held at the Sheep River Library on Thursday, April 28.

Volunteers from all organizations are invited to the open house, scheduled from 5-7 p.m., at the Sheep River Library in Turner Valley. Snacks, refreshments, gifts and prizes will be provided during the celebration.

The Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) of Turner Valley and Black Diamond are co-hosting the event to celebrate and honour volunteers for their countless contributions.

Both municipalities recognize the wide-ranging impact of their volunteers, who provide emergency services, sit on boards or committees, help with events, or work with youth, seniors, or any number of cultural or sports organizations among many other things.

The celebration falls during National Volunteer Week in Canada, April 24-30, and it is a time to recognize and thank Canada's 24 millions volunteers for the impact they have on our communities.
