Priddis suspect
RCMP is seeking this woman in relation to an incident in Priddis.

Turner Valley RCMP is looking for three people found at a Priddis property on Dec. 10 exhibiting suspicious behaviour. The homeowner of the 252 Street W property approached a woman driving on the premises and two men rummaging through items in the barn and called Turner Valley RCMP at 7:17 a.m., according to a press release by the Turner Valley RCMP. The three suspects left the property without incident. The homeowner had been awakened by her dog and saw that a black car had been left running in the driveway, stated the release. Shortly after, another vehicle drove down the laneway from the outbuildings. The driver identified herself as “Haley” and said she and her boyfriend were out looking for their dog. The woman was described as Caucasian, in her 20s about five-foot-five tall and weighing approximately 110 pounds with shoulder-length blond hair. The homeowner then discovered two men inside the barn rummaging through items. When confronted, one of the men advised they were leaving and proceeded to do so in the car that had been in the driveway. One of the men is possibly of First Nation descent with light skin, in his 20s and about 5-foot-10 tall. He’s described as having a black Mohawk about two inches tall with freshly-shaved sides and a very large black tattoo on the right side of his neck. He may have been carrying a weapon at the time. Turner Valley staff sergeant Dwayne Helgeson said all three individuals had left the property without incident and nothing was reported missing. Charges are pending, he said. “They were in the barn so we could look at some kind of mischief at the very least,” he said. “Maybe they came with a legitimate solid reason for being there. We won’t know until we actually make contact with them.” Although Turner Valley RCMP received no similar reports in that area around that time, Helgeson said posts on social media state people’s vehicles have been rummaged through lately. “Unofficially, we’re hearing it through the grapevine, through social media,” he said. “Nobody is reporting it to us. It’s very unreliable because it’s through social media.” Helgeson encourages the public to report all crimes to assist them with finding those responsible for theft. As a precaution, he suggests the public lock their vehicles and homes to avoid becoming victims of theft. “If you have gates close them, lock them,” he said. “Just some basic owner responsibilities to make sure you have a safe and secure property.” Helgeson also suggests people take similar precautions if they plan to be away. “They should let their neighbours know if they’re going to be away or they can get someone to check in on their property regularly,” he said. While property theft hasn’t been an issue recently, Helgeson said it’s often cyclical and precautions should be taken at all times. “If you have a safe, lock your valuables,” he said. “Make sure firearms are properly stored and locked up. That way if they get in they can’t easily get their hands on your valuables as well.” Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Turner Valley RCMP at 403-933-7227.
