An event in Diamond Valley on Jan. 21 aims to help shake off the winter blues and bring people together.

A “6 Months to Summer Luau” is being planned by a trio of local businesses. The pig roast and outdoor beer garden goes from 2 to 8 p.m. in the courtyard shared by The Market Black Diamond, Rollick. Co. and Glenda Sutherland/Maxwell Realty at 114 Government Road.

Roast pig with all the sides will be $15 a plate, with Big Beaver Brewing Luau Lager for $5 and pop for $2.

All food and drink proceeds will go to the BCG Foothills Clubs.

After grabbing a plate of food, visitors are invited to spend the afternoon exploring town and taking advantage of New Year's deals at many of the area's businesses.

Wear your favourite summer gear to the pig roast for a chance to win prizes.
