Sheep River Aggregate is holding a public information session in Black Diamond on Monday, Oct. 17.

The company says its current mining operation, north of Black Diamond, is nearing the end of its life cycle.

It proposes to expand the operation onto lands directly to the south, and is holding the information session to give people an opportunity to find out more or provide feedback about the proposal.

The expansion would require a land use amendment from Foothills County before it can proceed.

The public information session is at the Oilfields Curling Club, 613 Third Street SW, in Black Diamond from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
