QuantumPlace Consulting has put together a conceptual plan for Colts Crossing, a mixed-use development proposed for the Thorarinson lands at the eastern edge of Black Diamond.

QuantumPlace Consulting, on behalf of the landowner, is hosting an open house tomorrow evening to seek public input on a conceptual plan for a new community called Colts Crossing, a large-scale development in Diamond Valley.

The application was submitted earlier in 2023 and public feedback is being sought before the application is resubmitted to the Town for review.

Proposed for a 120-hectare (300-acre) parcel just south of Highway 7 at the east end of Black Diamond known as the Thorarinson lands, Colts Crossing would include residential, commercial and industrial uses as well as green spaces.

The open house is being held on Tuesday, Nov. 28 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Flare n’ Derrick Community Centre.

“The open house is an opportunity for the public to view the plans and provide comment and feedback on the development,” said Jessica Karpat, principal – planning with QuantumPlace Consulting.

“The public will be able to see the layout of the community, where the parks are and what type of housing is proposed,” she said.

Karpat said a previous plan was presented to Town officials, a document that has since been modified based on administrative and previous public comments. Feedback from the upcoming open house will help to further amend the conceptual plan, which QuantumPlace hopes to resubmit as soon as possible.

Colts Crossing will include a variety of housing options, as many as 2,000 units at full build-out, as well as a commercial component consisting of stores, restaurants, office space and more.
