Due to the extreme snowfall event, there will be no garbage collection in Turner Valley this week.
This is because the Town will not be able to clear the snow from all the streets to enable pickup before the regional landfill closes at noon on the 24th.
Garbage pickup will resume 'double duty' next Tuesday, Dec.29. Residents will be permitted to leave extra garbage bags (within reason) beside their bins, and an extra staff member will accompany the truck to toss the extra bags in by hand.
Residents are asked to remove their bins from the streets now to aid in snow removal efforts.
Staff wish to thank residents for their cooperation, understanding and patience our Public Works department faces this challenging event.
