Foothills County RCMP has received several complaints about people parking illegally on Hwy. 549 at Brown-Lowery Provincial Park.

"There is a grave concern for public safety at this location, as once the parking-lot area is full, vehicles are parking on both sides of the highway hindering the free-flow of traffic in both directions," RCMP said.

This forces single-vehicle traffic through the area.

As a result, no-parking signs have been installed on the highway at either end of the parking lot.

RCMP will be conducting active patrols of the area and those found in contravention may face an $81 violation ticket.

"The Foothills County RCMP encourages everyone to use the provincial park systems in a safe manner following all rules and regulations associated to their use."
