A different kind of checkstop will be sweetening up the drive in Black Diamond on Friday, Dec. 16.
From 5 to 6:30 p.m., local emergency services personnel will hold a Candy Cane Stop in front of Black Diamond's municipal office at 301 Centre Ave.
Officers and firefighters will hand out candy canes donated by the Foothills Lions Club, plus postcards made by local elementary school students.
