Dean White owns the Okotoks location. Although he assumed ownership in 2022, he has been with the brand for many years.

“We are a busy shop, but we make sure people are taken care of in a timely fashion,” says White. “What I love the most is seeing customers come in with a problem, and us being the one to make that problem disappear. We get drivers back on the road safely. From reception to service to aftercare, we provide a stress-free environment and the best products. That is what we build on here every day.”

For White and the team at Fountain Tire Okotoks, winter preventative maintenance is top of mind.

“Be ready for winter,” White cautions. “Booking winter tire appointments early is key. If you do not wish to have winter tires, we suggest hybrids. Nothing beats a winter tire for snow and ice conditions, but an all-weather tire gives you the option to run the same tire all year around – which is helpful when you can’t get into a tire shop or if you are an occasional driver.”

Other winterizing Fountain Tire can do is to check and replace wiper blades, check coolant and install winter tires.

When not in the shop, White and his team are very active in the community. They love to support the local food bank, the Terry Fox Run, and the annual Charity Checkstop.

“Our biggest thing,” says White, “is service. “We look after people. We look after cars. We look after our community. At Fountain Tire, the outlook I had since I started here remains clear: look after people and the rest falls into place. It’s about looking out for the customer and giving them suggestions for maintenance. Giving them the information of what needs attention now and down the road. Being truthful with people. What we see, we tell them.”

He means that quite literally. Fountain Tire does digital inspections and can send the video to the car owner. That way the driver sees exactly what is needed and why – and they don’t have to come to the shop in the middle of the day to look under the hood with the mechanic.

“We stand behind our products and services,” smiles White. “Our suppliers are fantastic and stand behind us as we stand behind our customers.”
