There are a few family-friendly RV resorts around the province that you won’t want to miss. Whether you are looking for a seasonal lease to spend the summer or fun activities for the whole family, there is something for everyone at one of these three great RV resorts.

Train-Themed RV Resort is Fun for All Ages

For RVers who love a great resort with dining options and interesting activities, Aspen Crossing is the perfect place to spend a weekend. This unique property features Aspen Crossing Train Excursions, a full-service RV campground, a swimming lagoon, two restaurants (one in an antique train car), a gift shop and a garden centre. There is certainly something for everyone at this family-friendly train-themed RV resort.

Camping at Aspen Crossing ranges from $35 per night for an un-serviced site in the off-season to $121 per night for a double-occupancy site in the height of the summer season. Camping includes a number of amenities including coin showers, flush toilets, sani-dump stations, and a playground. Firewood costs $12 per bundle and is delivered directly to the campsites.

This RV resort is incredibly popular. Booking early is definitely recommended. Aspen Crossing is located 48 kilometres east of Okotoks and 1 kilometre west of Mossleigh on Highway 24.

Seasonal Leased RV Lots in Southern Alberta

The Great Canadian Barn Dance & Campground offers gorgeous leased lots close to Waterton Park. The picturesque lake at the centre of the property is perfect for beach time, swimming and canoeing. This family-oriented, quiet RV park is located two hours south of Calgary and one hour north of Lethbridge.

There are a few options for seasonal leases at The Great Canadian Barn Dance & Campground. The seasonal rates start at $1,800 for non-serviced lots, $2,200 for 15 amp sites, $2,400 for 30 amp sites, and $2,550 for 50 amp sites. Amenities include laundry facilities and a shower house, and use of the property’s recreational facilities.

Family Fun on the Farm

Ol’ MacDonald’s Resort, which is located just east of Red Deer on Buffalo Lake, is a very popular camping destination for families of all ages. This unique resort provides visitors with a long list of amenities and activities including a coffee shop, mini golf, museum, candy store, arcade, restaurant, beach concession, kids rides, farm animals, playgrounds, and even a movie theatre. Guests can rent bikes and carts to make their stay even more enjoyable.

Prices to stay at Ol’MacDonald’s Resort starts at $33 per night for an un-serviced lot, $58 for serviced lots, and up to $600 for group camping. Campers enjoy the heated bathroom and shower houses, laundry rooms, sani-dump stations, and free WiFi.
