Did you know that these handy appliances can also be a great addition to your RV? Free up some time while camping by packing your pressure cooker to make mealtime in your RV easier.

Tips for Successful Instant Pot Cooking in RVs

There are a few things that you should know about using an electric instant pot in your RV. Keep in mind these useful tips that will help you to make delicious camping meals in no time:

  1. Make sure your campsite is powered. Otherwise, you will have to run your generator to use your pressure cooker.
  2. Don’t overload your RV’s electrical system. You might need to turn off other electronic appliances or devices while you are cooking. Check the wattage of your particular Instant Pot and make sure your electrical system can handle it.
  3. Consider the size of your Instant Pot. It should be big enough to make enough food for everyone, but it also needs to be stored somewhere while you travel.
  4. Since you won’t be using your stovetop, place a cutting board on top of the burners to transform it into extra counter space.
  5. Meal planning ahead of time makes cooking with an Instant Pot even easier. Bring all of the ingredients you need for the duration of your trip.

Prep ingredients before you go. Chop and measure the ingredients for each meal and store them in well-labelled containers or zip top bags. Not only will it save time and hassle while camping, but it won’t take up excess space in your fridge or pantry.

Great Tasting Recipes in No Time

One of the biggest draws of cooking with an electric pressure cooker is how fast these handy appliances can make delicious meals. Preparation and assembly are a lot like a slow cooker, but meals in a pressure cooker take a fraction of the time to cook.

There is an endless supply of Instant Pot recipes available online. Some great choices for the RV include traditional camping foods like chili, pasta, and tacos. You can also try some delicious recipes that you wouldn’t normally enjoy at the campground like pot roast or soup.

Whatever you choose to cook in your Instant Pot at the campground, you will enjoy the ease and speed of making meals. You won’t need to tend the stove or fire while dinner is cooking and everyone else is off having fun. Simply plug in your electric pressure cooker, add the ingredients, and turn it on. Dinner will be ready in no time with almost no hassle.
