Public Hearing - Bylaw 12-24

Take notice that Council of the Town of Okotoks intends to consider the following proposed Bylaw(s).
The date, time and place at which Council will hear representation regarding the proposed Bylaw(s)
is/are indicated below.

Any person or group of persons, or person acting on behalf of anyone who claims to be affected by
the proposed Bylaw(s) and wishing to provide a written submission prior to the public hearing must
provide comments through the following means:

- email Legislative Services ([email protected]); or

- drop-off in the drop box at the Municipal Centre;
no later than Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 12:00 noon in order for the submission to be included in
Council’s agenda package. Written submissions received after March 20, 2024 noon up until 7:00 p.m.
on March 25, 2024 will be summarized by Administration, noted during the public hearing, provided
to Council in full, and published on the Town’s website in an amended Council agenda following the
meeting.

Any person or group of persons, or person acting on behalf of anyone who claims to be affected by
the proposed Bylaw(s) and wishing to provide an oral presentation may do so by attending the Public
Hearing in person, or by submitting a request to appear via remote access during the public hearing to
Legislative Services ([email protected]) prior to 12:00 noon on Monday, March 25,
2024. Access and instructions will be given to those persons to join the meeting remotely. Oral
presentations during the public hearing are subject to a 5-minute time limit per person. An opportunity
for members of the public to respond via email to any new information that has arisen from
Administration’s report during the public hearing will be provided. Please note that only one
submission will be accepted per person, either written or verbal and that any information provided,
including letters, emails, or in person appearances, become part of the public record.

Time: 7:00 p.m. or shortly thereafter as Council may decide

Place: Council Chamber – 5 Elizabeth Street

- Bylaw 12-24 - The Purpose of Bylaw 12-24 is to amend the Land Use Bylaw 17-21 to exempt
election signage from the requirements of a development permit and all sign standards of the Land

Use Bylaw, provided it complies with the provisions of the Town of Okotoks draft Election Signage
Bylaw.

This concludes the summary of Bylaw 12-24.

The personal information on submissions made, regarding the above applications, are collected under
the authority of the Alberta Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Section 33(c) and
subsequent versions of the Act. The submissions may be included in the public meeting agendas of
the Municipal Planning Commission, the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board, and the
Okotoks Town Council and as such, the personal information included in the submission will be
publicly available, in accordance with Section 40(1) of the FOIP Act. If you have any questions,
