Youth injured by trip wire on walking path

Prank could have caused serious injuries

High River RCMP is investigating after a report of a youth suffering injuries from a trip-wire placed across a pedestrian bridge near Highwood High School on the south side of 12 Avenue SE in the community 20km south of Okotoks.

While riding his bike on the pathway, the youth struck the wire, suffering soft tissue injuries to his legs and knees.

RCMP went to the location and removed the wire. They were later notified that another man had struck the wire as well and was treated for minor injuries at the hospital.
