High River RCMP investigating pedestrian hit and run

Youth struck at crosswalk sustained minor injuries, driver fled scene

RCMP are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a truck in High River on March 21.

A male youth was crossing at the crosswalk on 1 Street SE and 5 Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle described as a newer black Chevrolet pickup truck with silver rims, driven by a women with long hair and sunglasses.

The driver did not stop and left the scene travelling southbound on 1 Street SE.

High River RCMP is appealing to the public for eyewitness accounts, dash cam or security footage, or any other information that may assist them.

The youth sustained minor injuries from the collision.

The Mounties are asking motorists to drive attentively to prevent such incidents from occurring.
