Finally, some relief. Our western winter sky is, at long last, once again filled with glorious flakes of snow. Our seasonal white stuff has been sorely missing this year, at least out here in the west.

We didn’t have a good turnout for our games night on Tuesday, so it was decided to limit them to once a month from now on. So, the next games night at VNC will be March 23 at 7:00.

I just finally figured out how to change the clock in my vehicle to regular time and now we will be going back onto Daylight Savings this Sunday, March 8 at 2 a.m. in the morning.

On March 7 the Scrapbook Club (an club within the Sheep Creek Arts Council) is hosting a Crop Fest in support of the Rowan House Emergency Shelter in High River. This event, taking place from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Our Easter dinner and silent auction will be at 5 p.m. on March 22. Tickets are available from our social committee. Our silent auction convener is prepared to accept your auction items any time after March 8.

It has been a generation since we have enjoyed this kind of exciting play from a Calgary Flames team.

Well, I guess it is lunch but Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi will be the guest speaker at the monthly Okotoks Chamber meeting on Wednesday, March 18th. Nenshi was recently honoured with the ‘World Mayor Award’.

All indications are that we will be heading to a spring provincial election. I assume all parties are gearing up for it! Space has been rented, printing booked and election advertising underway.

Three cheers for a short week thanks to a holiday Monday where most of us were given the day off to spend time with family.

If you’re a basketball fan (and even if you’re not) plan to be at the Oilfields gym at 7 p.m. on Feb. 25 to welcome the Harlem Crowns as they take on the boys and girls basketball teams. It promises to be an evening of entertainment.
