Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among Canadian men. Sadly, it is so common that one-in-eight Canadian men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.

There’s a very familiar feeling I get every time I go to the Bar U Ranch National Historic Site, and it’s not because I’ve been covering events there since my first week on the job as a reporter 12 years ago.

The annual 80 and Over birthday party was well planned and executed. The decorating committee did a superb job, the room looked enchanting. Our beautiful silver tea service and pretty china completed the elegant setting.

We had our line dance wind up on May 5. Lunch was at Bea’s and we thank her for being such a gracious hostess. The general meeting welcomed the usual faithful on May 5. This will be the last meeting until September.

For the second year in a row, I lost a bet with Okotoks Mayor, and Calgary Flames superfan, Bill Robertson. For two years now the mayor and I have bet on the season series between the Flames and Edmonton Oilers.
